Thomas Dolezal was born in Vienna and studied church music (unanimous award and scholarship from the Ministry of Science), composition and organ at the Conservatory of the Archdiocese of Vienna and at the University of Music and Performing Arts.

He has been working as a musician at the Cathedral since 1989. His other activities include teaching, composition commissions, concerts in Austria and abroad, artistic activities in all fields including stage music, CD recordings, writing specialist literature, lectures, radio and television productions, musical concepts and overall direction of many major church events.

Thomas Dolezal is the founder (1998) and director of the ARS MUSICA music ensemble for the musical accompaniment of celebrations. His clients include the Apostolic Nunciature, the Austrian Bishops’ Conference, the President’s office and many others.
